A new range of pressure sensors for vehicle test applications comes in at as little as half of the cost of existing transducers from other manufacturers.

The market for pressure sensors for vehicle test applications is about to be shaken up by a new range from Sensor-Technik UK, which comes in at as little as half of the cost of existing transducers from other manufacturers.

The S02 series has been specifically developed for the rally/touring and racing car data-logging applications, and meets those requirements precisely.

Pressure ranges are from 1 to 175bar, there are gauge or absolute versions, and a wide choice of mechanical connections - an important consideration for many customers.

Small and lightweight (75g), the S02 series also offers zero offset for correct cable connection, a high level voltage output and low power consumption.

It has, of course, been designed to withstand the extreme environmental conditions it will have to encounter, such as wide temperature ranges, vibration, shock and EMC levels.

The pressure sensing element is the latest design of oil-filled pressure capsule with a micromachined silicon chip and built-in damping, from one of the worlds largest manufacturers of sensing elements, all mounted within a high integrity module welded stainless steel construction.

The S02 can be powered direct from the vehicle battery, even during startup.

Applications include fuel systems, transmissions, turbo pressure, oil and braking systems.
