Rugged terminal suits mobile machinery
Wachendorff's Opus A1 operator terminal is PC-programmable to enable a specific set of operations to be offered to the machinery operator.
As well as a standard built-in "enable" switch, the onboard switches and controls include a manual pulse generator, up to two rotary knobs each with up to seven positions, up to two analogue potentiometers, a redundantly supervised emergency stop switch and up to five momentary buttons.
All these controls are monitored by the MR175's microprocessor that in turn communicates via serial RS232 to the main station.
Switch debouncing, MPG decoding and A/D conversions are all performed locally.
With its flexible interface, rugged design and lightweight cable, the MR175 will provide an ideal HMI solution in applications such as machine tools, assembly lines, robotics, cranes, medical equipment and automated production lines, and will doubtless prove an effective tool for troubleshooting and for maintenance at the point of operation.
