Sensor handles the pressure of
off-highway duties
A new high-specification pressure sensor designed for off-highway vehicles is likely to find wider application thanks to its demanding specifications.
Sensor-Technik UK has developed a high-specification pressure sensor primarily designed for off-highway vehicles The new M01-CAN, available with analogue output as well as CAN, has the exceptional shock and vibration resistance required by agricultural and construction machinery, and as would be expected, comes in an all-stainless-steel housing to IP65

Pressure transmitter takes dual role
A novel pressure-sensor-based solution allows operators of water spraying vehicles to monitor both water level and flow rate.
Depending on the electrical connection, IP69K is optional.
Sensor-Technik UK expects that the specification will also be of interest in many industrial applications.
The M01-CAN interface is fully CANopen (SAE J1939) compliant, and so the device will slot directly into modern CANbus communication systems without any modification.
The sensor is available in pressure ranges from 0-25 to 0-800bar, but thanks to Sensor-Technik's state of the art production facility in Germany, other ranges are available at no extra cost, as well as OEM versions.
Manufacturing is to ISO/TS16949 in accordance with e1.
Operating temperature range is -40 to +125C, with a maximum media temperature of +150C.
Accuracy is better than 1% between 0 and 80C.
All wetted parts are stainless, and thanks to the welded thin-film measuring element, the unit has a broad media compatibility.
Morten Moller at Sensor-Technik UK says that the M01-CAN is likely to find some challenging uses.
"However", he adds, "as you're dealing direct with a leading-edge European manufacturer here, rather than buying a rebadged take-it-or-leave-it sensor of indeterminate origin, you can be sure that you'll get exactly the right sensor for your particular application".
It is available with standard analogue outputs 4-20mA or 0-10Vor digital output CANOpen or J11939. Request a free brochure from Sensor-Technik UK ...
