A08-XHT sensor for high-temperature applications

A Sensor-Technik UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 25, 2008

Sensor-Technik has launched the A08-XHT pressure transmitter, specifically designed for applications involving high-temperature media.

The company said that although the standard version of the A08 pressure transmitter is suitable for applications up to 125C, the A08-XHT version is capable of operation with media at temperatures up to 200C.

The XHT transmitter is made of stainless steel and features a thin-film measuring element with no oil filling.

Devices are available with gauge pressure ranges from 0-20 bar to 0-1,000 bar.

Sensor-Technik said special pressure ranges can be supplied at no extra cost.

It added that regardless of the pressure range specified, linearity is better than 0.5 per cent full-scale, and full-scale pressure hysteresis and repeatability is specified as better than 0.1 per cent.

The A08-XHT has a two-piece construction, with all electronics protected in a remote sealed housing, separated from the sensor body by a 147mm-long cable.

The unit is compact and simple to mount, with both housings 17mm in diameter.

The sensor housing is 63mm in overall length and the electronics housing is 78mm long.

The A08-XHT offers a choice of two- and three-wire measurement with 4-20mA and 0-10V outputs as standard.

Like the standard A08, the A08-XHT is ideal for all types of hydraulic systems, extending the appeal of this sensor family to high-temperature applications, particularly in chemical and process engineering sectors.
