Sensor-Technik releases miniature disk load cell

A Sensor-Technik UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 25, 2008

Sensor-Technik UK has released the Model LPX, a low-profile miniature disk load cell manufactured in New Zealand by PT Limited.

Available with capacities from 25kg to 50 tonnes, the LPX is a rugged device suitable for all types of weighing applications, from hoppers and tanks to general-purpose process and industrial tasks, particularly where space is at a premium.

This compression type load cell is constructed from rugged tool-grade steel (except for the smallest 25 and 50kg versions that are made from aluminium).

All devices up to 1000kg capacity share a 52mm diameter outline with a low profile of 22mm.

Even the largest 50-tonne capacity devices measure just 155mm diameter by 55mm high.

All housings have a corrosion-resistant electroless nickel plate finish and are sealed to IP67.

All load cells in the LPX series are safe to load with 150 per cent of rated capacity, and will tolerate more than three-times rated load before mechanical failure.

Operating temperature range is -10 to +50C.

A full range of accessories is available for the Model LPX load cell, including a range of standard compression mounts.

These mounts simplify load cell installation with bolt holes located on the top and bottom plates, and feature a special restraining socket to negate the effects of side loads.

Model LPX load cells are available from Sensor-Technik UK with a three-year warranty.
