The web server is a chargeable software option to any SoftPLC based controller.

All SoftPLC controllers include the embedded Java language support at no charge.

With the web server, the user can use a web browser as an HMI, or as a user-friendly way to view files (such as pdf files) stored on the SoftPLC flash disk.

For examples of this technology, a SoftPLC system is on the internet and accessible from SoftPLC's web site.

With SoftPLC's embedded Java language support, the user can run the web server, which was written in Java by SoftPLC Corp.

Programs can also be written in Java language, using the Java API described in the SoftPLC programmers' toolkit.

Additionally, Topdoc loadable modules can be used written in Java.

These include the free ladder instructions 'send email' and 'SQL database read', both of which are described in this manual.

The web server portion of the documentation includes a mini toolkit to help the user quickly build animated web pages that include dynamic graphic objects, charts, read-write to SoftPLC and more.

The send-mail documentation and provided tools make it easy for anyone to add email capability to a SoftPLC by simply editing text files.
