System extends balancing benefits
A new semi-automatic grinding wheel balancing system provides accurate grinding wheel balancing to the wide range of applications that don't demand the speed or accuracy of a fully automatic system.
A new semi-automatic grinding wheel balancing system from vibration control specialist, Schmitt Europe brings the benefits of accurate grinding wheel balancing to the wide range of applications that don't demand the ultimate speed or accuracy of a fully automatic system.
Ideal for general machine shop use, the new competitively priced, entry-level system uses the proven technology of Schmitt's top-of-the-range balancing solutions to achieve considerably faster and more accurate balancing than manual methods.
It comprises an advanced SB-4500 series electronic control unit, along with standard vibration and speed sensors, which can be installed quickly and easily on all types of grinding machines.
The system's intuitive controls give step-by-step screen prompts to lead users through the simple procedure for correctly positioning the grinding wheel's balance weights.
In addition, the unit's in-built vibration sweep analysis mode provides a machine diagnostics facility as standard.
A further key benefit of the system is its protected upgrade path to fully automatic operation.
It also features a modular design that allows the insertion of plug-in PCB cards which extend the equipment's capabilities to the control of acoustic emission monitoring systems (AEMS) or even in-process gauging systems.
All results can be displayed in a choice of five preselected languages, output in hard copy format, or exported to industry-standard reporting, analysis or SPC programs.
Control units are available with either integrated or stand-alone display panels and are backed by a wide range of machine mounting options and ancillary equipment to meet users' individual application requirements.
