SRS Products has recently installed a new computer system, called MatchIT.

The objective is simply to continue providing its customers with the best service possible.

The new sales driven system combines every activity from enquiry to invoice, including a 'tickle'.

From the initial sales lead, the system integrates sales and order processing with machine, resource and material planning.

It is SRS's answer to having a system that ensures it is keeping up with the most advanced aspect of information technology.

Starting at the enquiry stage with a prompt known as a 'tickle', timely progressing is assured, while the level of follow up can be governed by a probability win percentage that can be keyed-in during the processing of the enquiry.

The enquiry can be converted to an order at the point of the mouse.

The scheduler then converts customers requirements into works and purchase orders, including raw material with steps that enable timely completion to meet the customers' required delivery date.

Within this process, minimum stock levels and re-order quantities are keyed-in to ensure regular items and those with high set-up content are produced in economic batch quantities.

Should any of the company criteria not allow the delivery date be met, the system reports where the shortage or bottleneck occurs.

Similarly, if a delivery is required to change, the system will enable a 'what if' visibility, reporting additional resource needs to achieve the change.

Again, throughout the production cycle, the 'tickle' prompt lists ensure jobs are carried out in the correct order.

Within the reporting system, a performance analysis shows the live situation across the company, including, enquiries, orders, deliveries, invoicing along with additional performance statistics to help understanding the changes within the business.

Additional forward information helps the efficient planning of the business.

Looking ahead, the MatchIT system has developed DDE, (Dynamic Data Exchange) compatibility.

This means that data from the system can be extracted and sent via E-mail to a recipient and vice-versa.
