The SRS Products 'Netcase' desktop range has been extended to accept components that convert the case to a cased subrack.
This provides a very attractive and easy to assemble desktop case frame with easy access through the removal of the top, bottom, front or rear cover panels.
The SRS Products 'Netcase' range of Subracks has been developed to meet the increasing demand for small rack mount enclosures that form a simple stylish appearance.
It is designed to accept a limited number of plug-in PCBs or slide-in chassis plate that carries all components.
The construction follows the basic Netcase concept, however with this variant, an open frame subrack can be built with either DIN connector or backplane mounting.
Taking this basic sub-assembly, Netcase side extrusions are then fixed to the subrack sideplate which, in turn, will then accept the top and bottom covers of the case.
To complete the front and rear, either full width panels are available which enclose the full opening.
For applications that require removable units, cover strips are available to reduce the case width to a standard 84HP, this will then accept standard subrack plug-in units and panels.
The Netcase subrack range is available in 3U height, 84HP useable width and depths to suit 160mm, 220mm and 280mm pcb depths.
Construction of the basic enclosure is formed from two aluminium depth extrusions, one each side.
These provide the joint between the top and bottom covers.
The covers are formed from aluminium sheet and it is the height and width of the form that determines the size of the enclosure.
A trim strip slides over the depth extrusion prior to assembling the top and bottom.
This conceals the joint and enhances the appearance of the enclosure.
The depth extrusions have a conductive finish, whilst the covers are powder coated and masked on the inside face to provide a conductive path between the covers and joint extrusion.
Front and rear panels fix to each end of the depth extrusions.
These are also masked to provide earth continuity with the main enclosure.
With this design concept, the materials selected provide the enclosure with a very high strength to weight ratio along with full earth continuity and a good level shielding.
