vision
A new range of super-bright LED lighting products can replace fluorescent and fibre optic lamps in machine vision applications.
Special Application Product Limited (SAP) has been appointed by Spectrum Illumination, the industrial lighting specialist from the USA, to launch in the UK and mainland Europe a new range of super-bright LED lighting products that can replace many of the jobs previously carried out with fluorescent and fibre optic lamps Designed specifically for applications in the machine vision industry, the Spectrum Illumination product range includes standard LED spot, ring, linear and backlights plus a new range of LED Monster lights, named because of the extraordinary levels of brightness they provide

Monster LED sheds light on vision
A new range of Dome LED Monster Lights from Spectrum Illumination is now available in Europe only from Special Application Products.
The Monster range includes spotlights in three sizes with active windows of 1.25, 3.25 and 5.5in and have a light output of up to 675 lumens (11880cd), the largest and brightest spotlights in the industry.
Monster ring lights have a long working distance and an active window of 3.375 x 5.5in with a 2.875in internal diameter for large lenses while the Monster linear lights provide a long even illumination with an active window of 1in height and either 11.5, 23, 34.5 or 46in in length.
All Monster lights are available in both wide and narrow angles, in white plus a choice of seven colours and are supplied with DIN rail mounted drivers.
An assorted range of diffusers, filters, and lenses are also available.
A strobe connection is provided as standard, requiring only a TTL trigger pulse.
Aimed at the machine vision industry, Monster lights are built from anodised aluminium, industrial strength Delrin and heavy-duty acrylic ensuring high performance and long life in the toughest of industrial environments.
Monster LEDs can outperform fibre-optic and fluorescent light products both in terms of performance and anticipated life.
They degrade only 20% after 50kh and have a life expectancy of 100kh compared with fluorescent light life of only 6kh.
This yields massive savings in downtime and increased productivity.
In addition, LED lights provide far greater strobe and pulse performance than fluorescent and fibre-optic products.
