Samtech will hold its 9th users conference on 2nd and 3rd February 2005, in Paris, France This conference will also be the opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the European finite element code Samcef, in presence of the European Space Agency and SNECMA, one of the historical and most important Samcef users

The 9th Samtech Users Conference will be organised in the Salons de l'Aveyron, famous congress centre located in the charming Bercy area in Paris.

During these two days of conference, senior engineering managers and their technical staff will have the opportunity to share their experience and present case studies that illustrate the use of Samtech advanced software technologies to improve their product development processes.

The conference will allow participants to discover the latest technology evolutions in computer aided engineering using finite element method and optimisation techniques; they will also exchange best practices in various engineering domains such as stress analysis, multibody simulation, composite structures, inflatable structures analysis, thermal analysis, ablation, fatigue, fracture mechanics, post-buckling, multidisciplinary optimisation, multiphysics, CAD/CAE integration, professional solutions.

and more.

The opening session will start with a short presentation of Samcef history by Eric Carnoy, Samtech CEO, notably evoking the creation of the Aerospace Laboratory of University of Liege in 1961 by Professor Fraeijs de Veubeke and the first US Air Force contract that lead in 1965 to the initial development of ASEF, the linear static analysis module of Samcef.

These developments were initiated by Professor Fraeijs de Veubeke and a young researcher who became later Professor Sander and created Samtech in 1986 in order to provide an industrial environment to its first important customers (SNECMA, SNIAS (now EADS ST), SEP (now SNECMA), SABCA, Sonaca etc).

"We are delighted to welcome as keynote speakers, Michel Klein, Head of Structure and Thermal Division of ESA-Estec, the technical Centre of the European Space Agency, and Jean-Marc Theret, Head of the Turbine Design Department of SNECMA Moteurs", said Eric Carnoy, Chief Executive Officer of Samtech.

"They will give attendees an exclusive view of the strategic technologies used in the space and aeronautical industries now, and in the future".

More than 30 technical papers will be presented, from various industrial sectors like space, aeronautics, automotive, civil engineering, machine tools, manufacturing.

We will welcome speakers from universities and research centres collaborating with Samtech as well as scientists representing a broad range of famous companies including in particular ABB, Aermacchi, AIRBUS, Air Liquide, Alenia Aeronautica, EADS, SNECMA, Sonaca, Rheinmetall, Techspace Aero.

Samtech technical staff will be available during the breaks to demonstrate new functionalities presented during the conference and to discuss ideas for future versions of Samtech software.

All the sessions will be simultaneously translated in English and French.
