Schneeberger has added two new quality options to its cross-roller precision linear bearings.

Schneeberger has added two new quality options to its cross-roller precision linear bearings Option SQ (Special Quality) is for use in high-demand applications such as optical measuring equipment and has a runout of no more than 5um over a travel distance up to 1800mm

Option SSQ (Super Special Quality) is used for the most stringent requirements, such as fibre-optic splicing equipment and has a runout of no more than 2.5um over a travel distance of 1200mm.

Cross-roller linear bearings offer extreme smoothness and virtually zero friction in a low-profile package.

Compared with recirculating type linear bearings, cross-roller guides have no pulsation effect caused by the rolling elements entering and leaving the bearing load zone.

Schneeberger manufactures six types of linear bearings including the first standardised linear bearing in the world - Type R.

The complete line up which includes cross-roller bearings with a zero-cage-creep assist option (Formula S) and needle bearings, consists of Type R, RN, RNG, RD, N/O and M/V.

A variety of ball and roller cages are offered by Schneeberger, including lightweight plastic, brass and steel.
