The new Prism Series captive hardware line features a stylised overmoulded knob that can be customised to virtually any colour to designate access points or to match an application's styling scheme Southco's Prism Series captive hardware eliminates problems associated with scratches on painted and powder coated hardware

Even after long use in the field, the PC/ABS-composite knob will not show the "bright spots" normally associated with painted hardware.

The knob is constructed of durable UL94V0 rated composite material that can be matched to virtually any colour.

The metal components of Prism Series hardware are corrosion resistant and offer increased strength and durability.

Prism Series plungers are available in either press-in or flare-in captive configuration and are currently available with two knob options.

A smaller moulded coloured knob is designed for applications with tight space constraints.

A larger overmoulded knob offers a secure grip and increased ergonomics.

If colour is not required, all metal versions of the plungers are also a standard option.

The Prism Series captive screws are available in both metric M3 and M4, and imperial 6-32 and 10-32 sizes.

These captive fasteners have increased torque strength for use with automatic drivers in high-speed assembly lines.

They are available in several installation configurations including press-in, flare-in, floating and a PCB press-in style.

"Colour serves as a visual cue for users and service personnel", explains John Snyder, Southco Product Manager.

"Colour coded hardware can decrease service time, and saving time adds value to the end user.

Colour matching a captive fastener to our customers' specifications allows them to integrate the captive hardware into their product design to differentiate themselves in the marketplace".

Prism Series captive hardware is ideal for numerous applications in such diverse industries as computers, networking/telecom, vending, medical and office equipment, or any applications where colour matching is required to integrate access hardware into the industrial design scheme.
