All of the exposed external parts will be made of 316 (1.4401) stainless steel and where adjustment screws are needed they will be made of grade five titanium (Ti-6Al-4V).

Additionally an anti-galling treatment will be applied to the adjust screws and the main retaining thread on the larger frame size cartridges, said Sun.

All the internal components will be the same as in Sun's standard products, using its floating cavity design to provide a range of products suitable for operating at pressures up to 350bar.

The valve performance and external dimensions will be exactly the same as the standard products.

The cartridges have been qualified by a 1,000-hour salt spray test to ASTM B117-03 to demonstrate their suitability for use in highly corrosive environments, added Sun.

Their functions will be pressure relief, pressure reducing, sequence counterbalance, pilot operated check logic valves, needle valves, restrictors and PC flow control.

Sun added that initially series 1 and 2 cartridges are available but all sizes will be available within the next few months.

The company also plans to offer most standard manifolds and custom designed manifolds in 316(1.4401) within the next few months.
