Motor manufacturer Land Rover is associated throughout the world with quality and performance - the same attributes they find in the range of Scafftag products they use in various stages of manufacturing and maintenance at their manufacturing plant near Birmingham.

The Pro-lok locking system, for example, is used by Land Rover on lockable circuit breakers prior to staff accessing the main isolators, helping to ensure safe and secure isolation.

Pro-lok is also used by Land Rover on 1in to 24in valves in the plant for isolating high pressure hot water systems, allowing maintenance and repair to be carried out in a safe environment down the line.

The plant also uses Scafftag's popular Forkliftag on its 600 leased fork lift trucks.

The Forkliftag system comprises a highly visible durable plastic holder with a plastic insert listing all items which require inspection on each pre-shift check.

The Forkliftag tagging system helps ensure safety and reflects Land Rover's commitment to preventative maintenance.

The Forkliftag system was introduced as a safety measure for forklift vehicles, but also as part of the company's policy of preventative maintenance, so that concerns are noted and resolved before they become a problem or danger.

If the driver spots any potential dangers or faults, it is reported immediately to the maintenance contractor team on site and the truck is taken out of service until the matter is dealt with.

Before the Forkliftag system was introduced, the plant relied upon checks being carried out without formal documentation.

The Forkliftag system helps to give accountability and a clear, recorded method of forklift truck safety and maintenance.

The flexibility of the Scafftag Forkliftag system has also been adapted by Land Rover for use on delivery vehicles which are offloading, helping to ensure that whilst the vehicle is being offloaded, staff are aware that it should not be driven.

Scafftag systems give a clear indication of work being done, are simple to use and robust.

Scafftag are proud to have been of service to Land Rover over several years.
