A Switchtec product story

Vertical plug-in PCB-mount terminal blocks offer neat and tidy cable management.

UK distributor Switchtec has extended its range of PCB-mount terminal blocks.

Manufactured under strict quality control procedures by Euroclamp, the range now includes a vertical female plug-in rising clamp terminal.

To complement existing horizontal female plug versions, Euroclamp's vertical female SVP and SVF terminal blocks facilitate quick interfacing between cables and PCBs, whilst offering the increasingly preferred option of having cables running parallel to the PCB.

Based on a 5.08mm pitch and measuring 27.6mm, the SVP and SVF are available in solid blocks from two to 24 poles and capable of handling currents up to 16A.

The SVP accommodates back wire insertion, whilst the SVF features front wire insertion.

Both models are designed to mate with PCB mounting male vertical or horizontal terminals that are available in either closed or open-ended style.

To allow for increased electrical contact, galvanised steel screws are employed.

Nickle-plated brass clamps and terminal spills ensure electrical contact is made, whilst at the same time providing excellent resistance against corrosion for long-term reliability.

Manufactured in self-extinguishing PA68 plastic to UL746B specifications, the terminal blocks can be safely used at temperatures up to 125C.

Available in Euroclamp's distinctive trademark green, the connectors can be supplied with self-adhesive labels to allow easy identification when mounted on the PCB.

Euroclamp's extensive ranges of electrical connector products conforms to a wide range of international standards and are available in the UK through Switchtec under an exclusive licence agreement.
