Meeting the need for robust, highly accurate proximity sensors, the Infra X sensors range from specialist distributor Switchtec is designed to operate in a wide range of demanding applications and is very competitively priced.

Aimed at wholesalers, OEMs, panel builders, manufacturers, and automotive end users, the proximity sensors use inductive technology.

The X sensors are available in ring or square formats and feature solid-state circuitry making them highly accurate, and hence ideal for counting applications.

Particularly, the sensors' high switching frequency enables them to be deployed in high-speed counting applications without risk of miscounts.

Competing proximity sensors that use electromechanical switching devices may not be triggered by fast moving objects.

With no moving parts, the devices have an extended life span for high reliability and process availability.

The robust sensors are certified to IP67 level of protection and are particularly useful in harsh environments or where stray liquid splashes may otherwise be a problem.

Red and green LEDs clearly indicate sensing and idle states.

Ideal for both new and retrofit installations, the square X sensors feature an industry standard design.

They are particularly useful where an extended range is needed coupled with a large sensing face.

The units' robust design makes them ideal for use in positioning applications where movement of the product could lead to tolerance problems.

The square X sensors are available in shielded and nonshielded formats and both DC (10 to 30V DC) and AC mains versions are available.

The shielded versions are designed to flush mount alongside a conveyer, or against a work surface or datum line.

Ring type X sensors from Switchtec mount via a sturdy M12 stud connector, again underlining their choice for use in harsh environments where damage to sensor heads is common.

Further, the stud enables quick installation and changing of the sensor, reducing machine downtime.

The ring sensors take counting accuracy a notch higher, as objects - say ball bearings or screws - pass directly through the ring, thus avoiding miscounts.

Showing durability and dependability, all Infra X sensors can operate over a temperature range of -25 to +75C and feature short circuit protection.

The complete, comprehensive range of Infra X sensors is available on a short time scale from Switchtec.
