For high-current applications that need to interface with PCBs, Euroclamp's MV10 terminal block offers a massive 57A current handling capability.

For high-current applications that need to interface with PCBs, Euroclamp's MV10 terminal block from Switchtec offers a massive 57A current handling capability The terminal blocks enable designers to easily incorporate PCBs into high power systems

Aimed at PCB manufacturers, OEMs, manufacturers and kitters, the MV10 will find favour in a wide variety of high current/power applications including battery charging, automotive, power supplies, transformers and generator sets.

A modular, two and three way design ensures that terminal rows of two, three, four, five, six and so on are easily achieved by joining blocks side by side.

The blocks have dovetailed end faces that slot together for stability and neatness.

The MV10 terminal blocks are available in two pitch sizes: 10.16mm and 20.32mm.

The latter format provides an increased distance between adjacent terminals to overcome physical or electrical constraints that may be present.

The terminal blocks have a large cable entry that accepts solid cables up to 16mm2 and stranded cables up to 10mm2.

The actual clamp aperture measures 5.4 x 5.8mm.

The provision of double terminal pins per pole ensures that the blocks' mounting on the PCB is both physically and electrically sound.

The MV10 thus maintains a stable position on the PCB and is not "bullied" by stiff, high-power cables.

At their rated current of 57A, the terminals have a voltage rating of 750V and a test voltage rating of 3kV.

A PCB hole size of 1.7mm is used with the blocks that employ tin-plated, copper alloy terminals.

The connection system uses a rising clamp design and is made from nickeled copper alloy.

For robustness and strength to firmly grip cables, M4 captive screws are used.

As well as green, other colours are available including black and grey.

A new design from Euroclamp to meet the growing need for higher power PCB terminals, the MV10 is among the highest current rated blocks available, and can be used in temperatures up to 125C.

Available now from Switchtec, the MV10 is part of the vast Euroclamp range that embraces many types and ratings of connectors.
