For harsh ambient conditions and larger protective doors, Steute has developed the EEx AZM 415 solenoid interlock with a robust metal enclosure.

When production or filling processes take place 'under lock and key', the protective doors are often fitted with a solenoid interlock system This might be for safety reasons, because the machine still moves dangerously while running down after it has been switched off, or for productivity reasons, because opening the protective door would interrupt the working process

This is also often the case for explosive areas - eg packing machines filling dusty or dust-forming goods.

For harsh ambient conditions and larger protective doors, Steute has developed the EEx AZM 415 in a robust metal enclosure.

The new EEx STM 295 series means that a more compact solenoid interlock system for smaller, lighter protective doors is now also available.

The EEx STM 295 is based on the tried-and-tested switchgear used in the EEx 95 series, housed in a fibreglass-reinforced plastic enclosure.

An electromechanic locking system keeps the protective door closed.

The switching element with 2 NC/2 NO contacts fulfils the conditions for flexible application; in addition, the user can choose between two versions, one using operating current and the other using the no-load current principle favoured by the trade associations.

The EEx STM 295 - combined with the relevant safety relay component - is suited for use up to control category 4 according to EN 954-1.

It has been developed for applications in Ex zones 1 and 2, as well as 21 and 22; Steute has submitted an application for ATEX authorisation.
