Combination module features mixed I/O capabilities

A Sixnet product story

The RemoteTrak RTU/combination I/O module combines a mix of I/O types with an RS232/RS485 interface.

The new RemoteTrak RTU/combination I/O module (model RM-RTU-8440-F) combines a mix of I/O types (eight discrete inputs, four discrete outputs, four analogue inputs) with an RS232/RS485 interface.

The RemoteTrak RTU is designed as an economical I/O solution for situations where designers need: a low cost RTU at a remote site; to poll I/O or Modbus devices on a RS485 party line; or expand the number of channels on a Sixnet EtherTrak node.

The RemoteTrak RTU supports Modbus ASCII, RTU, and the Sixnet protocol.

It also supports radio packeting and phone links.

This enables users to poll the RemoteTrak RTU with an industrial modem (such as Sixnet's VT-Modem) or radio using Sixnet or Modbus protocol.

All Sixnet I/O is engineered to withstand the abuse of harsh industrial environments.

The RM-RTU-8440-F is surge and vibration resistant, operates in temperatures ranging from -40 to +70C, and is CE, UL, CSA and Class 1, Division 2 (Zone 2) rated.

The module also has Det Norske Veritas (DNV) No 2.4 (Class A and B) certification for marine and offshore use.

It is encased in rugged Lexan for added durability.
