Industrial Ethernet switch manages gigabit speeds

A Sixnet product story

The ET-10MG offers eight 10/100Mbit/s RJ45 ports plus two 1Gbit/s combination ports for copper or fibre connections.

Sixnet has a new 10-port industrial Ethernet managed switch.

The ET-10MG offers eight 10/100Mbit/s RJ45 ports plus two 1Gbit/s combination ports for copper or fibre connections.

All the RJ45 copper ports support auto-negotiating (10/100 or 10/100/1000), auto-crossover and auto-polarity for plug and play connections.

The fibre ports 9 and 10 also accept SFP fibre optic transceivers for noise immune links up to 80km.

Sixnet managed switches are enhanced with open-source Linux capabilities and tools, combined with real-time network management functions.

They offer secure and optimised performance with RSTP (rapid spanning tree protocol) for fast redundant rings.

Even after a break in a communications pathway, messages will be delivered.

Sixnet managed switches can even detect and report network problems before they seriously affect network operations.

These switches also support a long list of advanced networking features such as SNMP, VLAN, IGMP, QoS, plus security with HTTPs, SSH, SNMPv3 and more.

Sixnet managed switches boast ultrareliability, working continuously through those hot summer days or cold winter nights.

Unlike office-grade switches that are intended only for use in air-conditioned offices, Sixnet Ethernet switches are designed to survive those extreme locations.

They have full industrial ratings, including a wide operating temperature range (-40 to +75C), Zone 2 hazardous locations, marine, offshore and more.

They have also proven themselves in military applications such as in LAVs, ships and aircrafts.

With their 20-year support and service policy, free field-installable upgrades, and over one million service-free hours (MTBF), these switches are a great investment.
