Sixnet unveils RTU/datalogger module

A Sixnet product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 27, 2008

Sixnet has announced the IPM2M - a combination of an RTU (Remote Terminal Unit), datalogger and telemetry interface in a compact package.

The IPM2M has Ethernet, RS232, RS485 and USB communication ports.

This port configuration makes it suitable for connecting to just about any device in a remote location.

Each port supports Sixnet and Modbus protocols along with DNP3 slave.

A mixture of discrete and analogue I/O is a good fit for remote monitor and control of various instruments.

Datalogging memory of 32MB in flash or dynamic memory provides ample space to save important data that can be accessed at any time.

Backup power is supplied from a central location to each distributed Etherbus I/O module using a single Etherbus Fieldbus cable.

The Etherbus POE supply feature will keep the module communicating and powering critical instrumentation during a power failure.

IPM2M provides the means to connect remotely to bring real-time data from distributed locations to the internet or into a central information server.

This product is suitable for remote M2M (machine-to-machine) applications such as environmental monitoring, energy/facility management, critical equipment monitoring, resource tracking and control, automated field service and security systems.

The operating temperature range is -40C to 75C (-40C to 85C storage) and IPM2M modules are ISO9001, CUL, UL DNV, CE, FCC and ROHS rated.
