Stepper driver takes control
The PMD-51031-R is a low-cost intelligent driver that can drive a 3A stepper, control three external devices, and read three general digital inputs and two limit switches.
The driver has 400 and 4000 pulse per revolution operation modes with a sinewave-like output signal, providing an accurate degree resolution.
The PMD-51031 has clock and direction inputs, to be controlled by a host computer, a CNC, a remote controller or a PLC.
It has go and dir inputs for manual operation and two "end of travel" switch inputs, to prevent any out of limit move (caused by either hardware fault or software mistake).
The driver is aimed at low to medium power systems, and it can drive four-, six- and eight-lead stepper motors, of 0.2 to 6A phase current.
All the driver's inputs are 5 to 24V range, for lab and industrial use, and its power requirement is a single 12 to 48V DC source of any kind, regulated or unregulated, with an output current of 3A.
Applications include: robotics, x-y tables control, precision valve control and sophisticated motion control projects.
