System Devices at Automation and Robotics Show
Among the robots on display at stand number R75 at the Automation and Robotics Show is Epson's IP65 washdown model which is making its first UK appearance.
OptoControl, its flowchart-based development environment, now allows use of the 64-point digital-only SNAP-ENET-D64 brain, or the analogue/digital SNAP-B3000-ENET.
It also provides support for four-channel modules and a strategy archiver that saves all files to a single date- and time-stamped file.
Improved copy and paste elements are included for flowcharts, while more options for viewing values have been added.
FactoryFloor's human-machine interface (HMI) and trending software, OptoDisplay, now provides more alarm options and input attributes, plus new security settings and other features to help users develop robust HMIs.
Meanwhile OptoServer, FactoryFloor's OPC- and DDE-compliant data server, has greater flexibility for item names and topic or access path names.
Users with OPC or third-party packages no longer need to set access path names, or include the controller name within the item name.
An adjustable re-enable period gives greater control over communications, while a help menu opens an Adobe Acrobat PDF version of the OptoServer's User's Guide.
Three essential utilities are included for users with SNAP Ethernet I/O.
OptoBootP Utility assigns IP addresses to SNAP Ethernet brains and Opto 22 M4SENET-100 Ethernet adapter cards, while OptoFlash-ENET Utility handles maintenance and SNAP Ethernet I/O Configurator allows easy configuration of multiple Ethernet brains with similar I/O point configurations.
Overall, FactoryFloor 3.1 provides even closer integration with Opto 22's world-class control hardware, while taking advantage of the power of Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT and Office software products such as Excel and Access to deliver a complete client-server solution for industrial automation.
