The new 2251EIS intelligent optical smoke detector from System Sensor Europe is rated for use in Zone 0, 1 and 2 Areas, BASEEFA Approved EEx ia IIC T5 for potentially explosive atmospheres

The new 2251EIS Intrinsically Safe intelligent optical smoke detector from System Sensor Europe is rated for use in Zone 0, 1 and 2 Areas, BASEEFA Approved EEx ia IIC T5 for potentially explosive atmospheres.

A custom galvanic isolator and a translator module are used in conjunction with the detector, allowing the panel to communicate transparently with the detector through the intrinsically safe interface.

The 2251EIS is a low profile unit, identical in size and performance to the standard intelligent optical detector, the 2251E.

It offers all the features of the standard unit, including the same panel-programmable sensitivity ranges and immunity to high air velocities - up to 20m/s.

It is installed in the standard B501 intelligent low profile base, measuring 102mm in diameter and 43mm high.

Potentially explosive atmospheres are encountered in a wide range of manufacturing, processing and other industries.

By enabling the coverage of an intelligent fire detection system to be extended to include a potentially explosive industrial area, protection of life and property is much enhanced at a very small incremental cost.
