Two multi-purpose structural adhesives from Symonds Cableform of Welwyn Garden, have, says the company, such good surface adhesion, flexibility and high mechanical strength when cured that they will bond almost anything.

They can be used to bond aluminium, steel, other metals, composites, GRP, ceramics, brick, wood, stone and many plastics, including ABS, PVC and acrylics, in any combination.

They are also fully weather resistant The adhesives, coded 5300 and 5420, are applied directly without primer and cure at room temperature.

They can fill gaps up to 3 mm and reach handling strength in 15 minutes, giving time to make adjustments if necessary Both adhesives are solvent free and make durable bonds with excellent resistance to fuel, chemical and water environments.

Temperature resistance is from -55 to +120C plus limited paint bake cycles; cured bond strengths are up to 22 N/mm2 The adhesives can be used on materials of almost any thickness and, unlike spot welds and other mechanical fastening systems, cannot be seen when cured and do not require any finishing work The adhesives are available in either pre-measured cartridges for easy dispensing or bulk containers, with a 1:1 mixing ratio.

Cartridge versions mix as they dispense.
