Operations engineers take home prize
The Society of Operations Engineers won the Membership Recruitment Award for its work with the Armed Forces.
For membership organisations, it is the equivalent of the Oscars and Wednesday night (8 March) saw the SOE take home the top prize at the Membership Development Awards 2007 The SOE won the Membership Recruitment Award for its work with the Armed Forces

"As we move the SOE forward, making it fit for the twenty first century, this kind of backing from a well-respected organisation lets us know we're on the right path to a very bright future".
This is the first year that the SOE has entered the awards, so taking the top prize was more than a pleasant surprise.
The runner up for the Development Award was the Chartered Management Institute.
Mark Organ, Head of Membership and Professional Standards said "This award reflects the effort and hard work that has gone into the military campaign by the staff, Professional Sector Councils and the Membership and Professional Standards Committee over the past two years".
"I would like to thank everyone involved with the campaign but particular thanks go to Will, Teresa Mullen, Joe Fraguela, Andrea Dick, Sarah Prest and of course Roddy Mackenzie, all of whom helped make winning this award possible".
