XLReporter provides the technology that enables reporting in Microsoft Office Excel to be performed automatically and in the background.

SyTech's XLReporter has been approved by Siemens Energy and Automation as a reporting option for use with the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system from Siemens XLReporter provides the technology that enables reporting in Microsoft Office Excel to be performed automatically and in the background

SyTech has successfully completed testing of XLReporter for use with PCS 7.

Reports can be produced by reading real-time process data via the PCS 7 OPC Servers and from process archives via the PCS 7 OPC Historical Data Access (OPC HDA) Servers.

The OPC HDA interface provides raw and interpolated samples as well as every available calculation in the OPC HDA specification.

When alarm and event reports are required, XLReporter interfaces with the PCS 7's OLE DB provider to access data contained in the alarm archives.

"Siemens approved the XLReporter as a reporting option because of the benefits it will bring to our customers", said Teddy Tom, Senior Product Manager at Siemens.

"It is easy to use, integrates seamlessly with PCS 7, does not require any programming and is based on the familiar environment of Excel".

With XLReporter's intuitive point-and-click configuration, users can easily create informative drill-down, summary and utilisation reports.

Completed reports are then distributed via web pages, networked printers, PDF files and/or e-mail.

XLReporter is fully compatible with Microsoft Vista and all other Windows operating systems.

Support for the Office Excel family has been extended to Excel 2007 using the new Office Fluent user interface.
