AC micro drive is designed to cover low power voltage/frequency applications using the latest "contactor" style wiring format, allowing side by side panel installation.

The latest AC micro drive from Delta Electronics, the VFD-EL is a low cost variable frequency drive ranging from 0.2kW single phase (115 and 230V models) up to 3.7kW three phase.

The drive is designed to cover low power voltage/frequency applications using the latest "contactor" style wiring format (supply in top, power out at bottom), allowing side by side panel installation alongside Delta E constant torque drives, for mixed multiple-motor applications.

Like all AC drives from Delta, the VFD-EL uses the same standard programming software and can communicate directly with the Delta range of HMIs, allowing operator control and programming directly from a HMI, without the need for interposing PLC or communication modules.

The drives feature built in keypad and potentiometer, built in EMI filter to EN61800-3, switchable for IT mains supplies, high-precision current detection, full overload protection, overvoltage/overcurrent stall prevention, short circuit protection, reset after fault, speed search function and motor overheat protection by PTC.

The VFD-EL comes as standard with Modbus protocol via RS485, and has optional fieldbus modules for connection to a variety of networks including Profibus, DeviceNet, LonWorks and CANopen High efficiency cooling allows side by side installation (40C) of the compact design space saving VFD-EL, with easy DIN rail mounting using the optional DIN rail adapter (built in on Frame B), and easy maintenance with a removable cooling fan.

Multiple VFD-ELs can be connected in parallel to share regenerative braking energy, preventing overvoltage and to promote DC-bus voltage stability.

Economically priced, the VFD-EL micro drive represents Delta's continued mission statement of quality plus functionality at the lowest cost.
