Analysis software exploits computing advances
STS has improved its boundary element platform for acoustic, vibroacoustic and aeroacoustic analyses.
New VNoise features include: interface with Nastran OP2 and Ansys (RST) files; multiple-domain analysis with fluid with different properties; multiple load case analysis; batch files for background execution; modelling of bulk reacting sound absorbing materials; coupling between different fluids (eg free surface water/air); specific features for modelling perforated surfaces; and user defined interfaces between different fluid domains.
Thanks to the highly optimised iterative solver algorithm, large scale calculations can be conducted in a fraction of the time required by other BEM solvers.
And the availability of an easily configurable PC-based parallel solver further increase the scalability of VNoise for large-scale industrial problems.
