Multiple hub couplings enable special results

A Schmidt-Kupplung product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 7, 2006

The Semiflex couplings are designed with two pairs of parallel links installed 90 degrees out of phase with each other

This patented arrangement allows for the precise transmission of torque and constant angular velocity between shafts with relatively large parallel misalignments.

Shaft misalignment is compensated via pivoting parallel movement.

No restoring forces are induced and shaft bearings are not exposed to radial stress.

The range Semiflex consists of three series, which are available with various shaft connections.

Given the many possible variations of the independently chosen shaft connections for each side of the coupling Schmidt-Kupplung can almost always offer solutions from the standard programme.

Because of the modular construction it is also possible to realise customer specials quickly and economically.

Form fit versions (hub versions 5-7) are offered with standard hubs with keyway or in a short version with internal hubs with keyway.

If a backlash free operation is necessary press fit clamp hubs (hub version 1 and 2) are the solution.

In split clamp hub series the couplings are designed to be installed without moving other machine parts.

They ensure an easy drop out installation with zero backlash for shaft diameters up to 45mm depending on size.

For higher torques another press fit version for locking assemblies (hub version 3) is offered.
