Nickel-cobalt deposits replace hard chrome
Nickel-cobalt deposits can be used successfully as an alternative to hard chrome in various applications.
It is often necessary to carry out selective aluminium chromate operations when: the original tank has been damaged; the coating has been removed during final machining; areas have been masked before painting large structures and a coating with good corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity is needed on these exposed areas; the component is too large to be immersed in a tank; or the component cannot be immersed in a tank because it has sensitive components.
Repairs with liquid chromating solutions are often not practical/or difficult to carry out and the end result is usually of low quality.
With Sifcos' aluminium chromating gel kit critical surfaces can be easily treated using the gel, with spectacular results.
The kit comprises 1kg of gel in four 250g containers, with the accessories required to prepare and apply the gel to the surface to be treated, to recover the used product and to dry the components.
