Taegutec adds quick-change heads to T-Clamp line

A Taegutec product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 10, 2009

Taegutec has added quick-exchangeable heads to the T-Clamp system and extended its parting-blade program.

The blade program now incorporates face-turning applications while the modular T-Clamp line now includes quick-change heads.

Taegutec has brought out three new heads, the C4, C5 and C6, which have been designed to accommodate all the existing adapters that are in stock as standard items.

The heads suit the existing TCER/L and TCFR/L adapters and are compatible with competitor systems to eliminate additional costs to the end user.

The heads have two pockets, so customers can use right or left-hand adapters.

The new line delivers all the advantages of the T-Clamp modular system, with an integral shank that enables external and face machining to be conducted, considerably reducing the cost of machining.

The flexibility of the system is exemplified by its adjustable coolant pipe, which allows fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting edge to enhance tool life and machining performance.

The new blade program for face-grooving operations has been designed to work deeper with a wider range of diameters than integral holders to give the end user a multitude of advantages when conducting parting and grooving operations.

The new blades reduce costs and improve productivity; the double or single-ended pocket option reduces tooling costs.

To further reduce the cost of the blade program, Taegutec has made the new blades compatible with standard tool blocks and extractors.

The purpose of the single-end inserts is to give the customer rigidity and stability when grooves are required at a depth beyond the length of the inserts.

With regard to capability, the stability and rigidity of the holders, combined with the tool life of the TDC/ TDJ/TDFT and TDXU inserts, make the double-ended blades reach deeper than competitor face-grooving tools.
