Taegutec replaces CT5000 grade with Cermet CT7000
Taegutec has brought out the Cermet CT7000 grade for steel-machining applications at high cutting speeds.
The new CT7000 will replace the CT5000 grade.
The CT7000 features improved wear resistance and reinforced toughness levels beyond the existing CT5000, making it suitable for interrupted cutting.
The CT7000 is an extremely hard grade with an excellent thermal resistance level that enables it to work at speeds beyond the capabilities of competitor tools.
It has a reinforced structure that provides excellent chipping resistance, reducing the wear on the insert and preventing sudden fracture.
The high chemical stability strengthens the insert and improves tool life and the surface finish of the workpiece after machining.
The CT7000 grade is suited to machining materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel and mould and tool steels up to 45HRc, delivering remarkable productivity and tool life.
Under examination at Taegutec's test centre, the CT7000 has proven to improve tool life from 25 to 50 per cent and improve surface finishes by 25 per cent while working at cutting speeds in excess of 180m/min at cutting depths of 2 - 4mm.
