Introduced with machine tool builders and gear box manufacturers in mind, the latest addition to the Tandler product range is a coupling with expanding shaft connection.
Introduced with machine tool builders and gear box manufacturers in mind, the latest addition to the Tandler product range is a coupling with expanding shaft connection.
Shafts diameters range from 3 to 60mm and the expanding shaft is available from 8 - 60mm; torques range from 0.5 to 300Nm.
This torsionally rigid drive component has been specifically developed to suit hollow shafts or borings.
The expanding shaft is equipped with a tapered element which allows high clamping forces to be applied to ensure reliable operation.
The coupling is a proven Tandler BK2 model which has a clamping hub.
This permits a frictional clamped connection which is backlash-free and will tolerate brief overloads of up to 150%.
The coupling incorporates multi-walled bellows made from highly flexible, high grade stainless steel which effectively dampen vibration.
This design makes them ideal for installation in high dynamic servo drives, NC axes, manipulators and linear units.
In common with all other Tandler couplings, the new expanding shaft models are designed to accommodate axial, lateral and angular shaft misalignment with low restoring forces.
They are maintenance-free and balanced up to 10,000 rpm.
