Available with either a "slide in" or "snap in" mounting channel they are easily installed in the most challenging of applications.

The heart of the product is a simple switching system using ribbon switch, known as "Tapeswitch technology".

This switch may be used as a stand-alone, any length, continuous switch can be combined with a durable housing material to become an edge switch.

When used in safety applications the edge can be activated either "head on" or "side on".

This means that when the edge meets an obstruction from any angle the housing compresses, causing the switch to operate and giving either a control or stop signal.

Therefore Tapeswitch ribbon or edge switches are ideally suited for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications including machine control and safety, transportation, disability aids, leisure/amusement equipment, conveyor systems and lifting platforms.

The complete range of sensing edges contains a variety of profiles and configurations to offer different sensitivities and over-travel movement to meet the demands of the application.

Most sensing edges are available in a variety of colours and supplied with a choice of flat or angled channel for more flexible mounting options.

Like all Tapeswitch safety systems and other products, sensing edges are manufactured under the control of a BSENISO9000 approved quality system.

They conform to category 3 of EN954 when used in conjunction with Tapeswitch PS controllers and are all CE and UL approved.
