Bins solve the problem of storing waste in EPAs
TBA Electro Conductive Products (ECP) has introduced new wheelie bins that solve the problem of storing waste in electrostatic discharge protected areas (EPAs).
Besides a wide range of standard boxes and storage containers, TBA ECP can also produce specially designed products to customer order such as the component dispenser.
The novel component dispenser was designed for one of TBA ECP's customers who required high volume storage of plastic components for their assembly.
However, the customer also specified that the dispenser should not occupy any more bench space than standard storage boxes.
The requirement also called for removal of the risk of static build-up caused by the customer's own material which was endangering the electrostatic sensitive devices (ESSDs) in the assembly.
Furthermore, the customer wanted operators to be able to see what parts were in each box.
The dispenser design that TBA ECP produced offered an ideal solution in that the customer could store a day and a half of work as opposed to the half day of work offered by standard 400 x 300mm containers.
However, as the new dispensers were basically tall and narrow (dimensions are 474 x 205 x 424mm), they took up less space than a standard 400 x 300mm box.
The dispensers were moulded from TBA's ECP 128 conductive rotationally moulded HDPE to provide a completely conductive container that would prevent the build-up of static charge to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) during assembly operations.
In addition, the lid and front cover of the dispenser were moulded from TBA's ECP 2000 transparent static dissipative sheet so that operators would be able to see components within each dispenser.
