Catalogue gives educational CAD discounts
Tech Ed Concepts (TEC) has released the 2002 TEC Academic Catalogue of 3D Engineering Solutions.
Used as a "quick learning tool", incoming freshman at USM will be using Cadkey in the introduction to Technology and Graphics and the Introduction to Engineering courses as the application to support the technology and graphics and engineering curriculum.
Students at USM are introduced to the tools, tasks and culture of engineering and undertake a series of small projects that are applied using Cadkey throughout the semester.
In addition, USM is making a student bundle available (Cadkey 19 and The Cadkey19 Project Book) to students at a substantial discount.

Teaching programme for hands-on rapid prototyping
The TEC RP Pre-Engineering Programme is designed to introduce students to the modern industrial demand of rapid prototyping (RP) technology.
USM operates as a learning community committed to prepare students to meet the challenges of the working world.
There are approximately twenty students (on average) per classroom setting, which provides students with the opportunity to grasp the concept of the software and its application to the curriculum.
Professor of Engineering at USM, Andrew Anderson said, "One of the reasons we use and have used Cadkey is because of its 3D design capabilities versus other software similar to Cadkey that tend to be very vague.
Using Cadkey increases productivity.
Other programs tend to slow down productivity because they are complex and students are not able to grasp the concept of the application.
With Cadkey they are able to do that, Cadkey is a quick learning tool." Cadkey contains an easy-to-use interface and hybrid modeling capabilities that allow students' to produce professional designs within a reasonable amount of time.
Cadkey Corporation continues to support academic institutions like USM to ensure that students become technologically experienced leaders in industry and supports USM's commitment to provide a solid foundation in education.
Richard Amarosa, President of Tech Ed Concepts, said, "We are pleased to increase our presence in post-secondary connections as the world of CAD continues to change manufacturing worldwide.
According to a large number of post-engineering institutions, a solid establishment of Cadkey principles of hybrid modeling is the best foundation for young engineers and technology education instructors to be productive in any future environment they encounter.".
