Tech Ed Concepts' new textbook for DataCAD 11 Software! This book is designed to introduce DataCAD to new users, and to introduce architectural CAD through the use of the DataCAD software The book is aimed at students in technology education, 'tech prep', or introductory level architectural CAD courses, vo-tech courses, college architectural design classes, and architects and designers just starting with CAD

It is divided into a series of drawing projects developed to help new users explore and appreciate three-dimensional architectural design and drawing.

The DataCAD 11 Project Book has been written specifically for DataCAD 11.

It introduces the fundamental operations needed for creating floor plans, adding dimensions, and using the new symbol browser included with DataCAD.

A new chapter has been added for creating and modifying symbols, and a new appendix has been added covering input methods and the use of the powerful 'identify/set-all' tool.

Expanded Basic DataCAD 3D design concepts are covered, and instructions show how to create hidden line renderings and include them with working drawings.

Fundamentals of 3D modelling are also covered through the creation of a block city.

A number of DataCAD tools are included including the AEC Model macro for adding realistic 3D doors and windows.

Rendering and dynamically displaying rendered images using the o2c viewer are explained.

Those interested in the basics of conventional frame construction will see a chapter devoted to the powerful Framing macro.

The DataCAD 11Project Book was updated from its previous version by Michael Smith who is a registered architect and a partner at Signature Architects, and a DataCAD user.

He is the author of 'The Official DataCAD User's Guide,' and 'DataCAD 10 Advanced Construction Drawing and Visualisation.'.
