New features and new catalogues available in Trace Parts v2.3 bring dramatic productivity increases in the design of industrial machinery, tooling, automotive and aerospace industries.

Trace Parts will be offering 30-day trial licences of its standard parts library seamlessly integrated to Catia V5 at the ECF 2003 Conference and TechniFair (booth 48), from 4th to 6th November 2003, at Disneyland Paris, France.

Trace Parts was the first standard parts library to join the dassault systemes' Software Community Programme (SCP) as a partner in October 2001.

Through this development partnership Trace Parts is still the only CAA V5 partner to complement native standard parts catalogues by delivering Catia V5 users more than 20 million standard parts directly accessible from DS 3d PLM solutions.

Trace Parts leverages the V5 architecture to develop an extensive library of international standard Catia-native 3D parts.

Customers from all industries, and especially industrial machinery, tooling, automotive and aerospace will benefit from all the most commonly used components in mechanical design from the largest names of the mechanical industry: Asco/Joucomatic, Bosch, Boutet, Festo, INA, Legris, Nadella, Norelem, Nsk, Parker, Rabourdin, Siam-Ringspann, SKF, SMC, SNR etc.

Trace Parts completely eliminates the time consuming process of finding and modelling international standard and manufacturers' components.

The time saved allows designers to spend more time on the critical stages of the design process.

Trace Parts is much more than a simple CAD library.

It contains more than 20 million components straight from the leading parts manufacturers in the world.

The content includes components such as: fasteners, shaft ends, keys, pins, gears, bearings, cylinders, flanges, reducers, elbows, electric motors and structural sections.

It also includes detailed technical documents regarding the individual products.

The content of Trace Parts is relevant to all mechanical designers in the tooling, machinery, automotive and aerospace industries.

Trace Parts is run directly from within Catia V5 and the selected components are automatically inserted into the current session, with all their bill of material information attached as Catpart properties (part name, reference, manufacturer, standard, mass etc).

Several search engines are included in the application as well as 2D and 3D viewers.

These features mean that time is saved when selecting components as the right component is found first time.

The Trace Parts database can be linked to an external data source in order to associate customised PDM information (internal references, prices, status etc) to the standard data directly coming from manufacturers' catalogues.

Downloads of product updates and new parts catalogues are available through an exclusive maintenance contract.

Maintenance customers can directly influence the product development and the modelling of new catalogues.

Web versions of Trace Parts can be customised to match specific contents requirements such as US aerospace and automotive parts.

Visitors to the Trace Parts booth next week at ECF will receive a free 30-day trial CD.
