The QS18 is only 35 mm high, x 15 mm wide, x 31 mm deep and features an 18 mm threaded nose to directly replace barrel sensors.

Tiny inductive sensor in microswitch style housing
Turck Banner introduces the Q10S, a tiny inductive sensor in a micro- switch style housing that is perfect for valve positioning control and other proximity switching applications.
Despite its small size, the performance of the QS18 sensor exceeds that of sensors several times its size.
It is available in all sensing modes.
The opposed mode sensing range is a powerful 20 m; retroreflective mode range is 6 m; and convergent models have a 16 mm or 43 mm focus.
Sensing modes also include regular and wide-angle diffuse (proximity mode) with ranges up to 450 mm.
Amazingly, this sensor can replace larger barrel sensors, low-end economy sensors and larger mini-style sensors, with the same or better range.
The QS18 sensor also features versatile output configurations and self- diagnostics.
Users can choose complementary NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) outputs.
There is one normally open and one normally closed circuit, each capable of switching up to a 100 mA load.
LEDs indicate 'Power On' and 'Output Status', as well as 'Output Overload Condition' and 'Marginal Signal'.
The QS18 sensor delivers increased sensing productivity in low and high volume applications.
The rugged ABS sealed housing stands up to tough applications and meets the 1P67 and NEMA 6 standards for harsh environments.
Integral protective circuitry guards the sensors against reverse-polarity, transient voltages, short circuits and false pulse on power-up.
The unit features sensitivity adjustment and LEDs that protrude above the top of the sensor providing 360ø visibility.
Users can choose models with an integral, 2 or 9 metre pre-wired cable or 150 mm 'pigtail' pico-style, quick disconnect cable.
All cabling options feature a unique strain relief design, allowing for extreme flexibility in mounting configurations.
The new QS18 photoelectric sensor is designed to fit all mounting arrangements, making it a new universal standard to replace literally hundreds of older designs.
It has the range and durability of much larger sensors and can save valuable space without changing the existing mountings.
