FactoryLink 7.2 is a flexible software solution for industrial human machine interfaces (HMIs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada).

FactoryLink 7.2 is a flexible software solution for industrial human machine interfaces (HMIs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) FactoryLink 7.2, developed by USData Corp before its acquisition by Tecnomatix earlier this year, offers a rich new set of enhancements that allow faster and easier application building, including: a new application setup wizard that empowers developers to get applications up and running quickly and easily; rich new application templates that facilitate rapid building of new applications; a custom template capability that allows developers to create custom templates for use with the application setup wizard; easier-to-use configuration environment for client-side trending, alarms, and database browser ActiveX controls; easier FDA 21CFR Part 11 validation of applications through automatic logging of all tag changes initiated by users or automated clients; support for arrays of tags in the popular branching functionality introduced in FactoryLink 7.1; improved quality of service when using unreliable networks prevalent in many harsh industrial environments through the addition of several OPC server optimisations; and native support for the industry-standard VT-Array data type as defined in the OPC specification

According to ARC Research Director Craig Resnick, who compiles ARC's "HMI software worldwide outlook study": "FactoryLink has an established history and a large installed base in an HMI/Scada marketplace that has ridden many technology waves.

The FactoryLink 7.2 release should reaffirm to both the HMI/Scada marketplace and the existing FactoryLink/USData installed base that Tecnomatix is making a long-term commitment.

Tecnomatix's message to their installed base focuses on providing innovative solutions with seamless upgrade paths that will not require those users to rebuild their existing applications to take advantage of new versions".

"Tecnomatix is pleased to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the FactoryLink customer base by the introduction of this new version with a seamless upgrade path", said Harel Beit-On, Chairman and CEO, Tecnomatix Technologies.

"FactoryLink 7.2 has many new features and enhancements designed to help our customers design, build and maintain real-time industrial applications faster and with less complexity".
