Tough roll-on sealing sleeves for
outdoor use

Originally developed by Tyco Electronics for marine and offshore applications, heavy-duty Rayolon sealing sleeves are now available for sealing and protecting connections in general outdoor electrical installations, remote communication sites and deployable cable systems They are high integrity 'cold applied' components, which have the additional advantage of allowing re-entry and reinstatement during maintenance, repair and retrofit tasks

Braided sleevings offer good abrasion resistance
Tyco Electronics has added Rayflex expandable braids to its Raychem range of overprotection products for electrical harnesses and fluid management systems.
Rayolon sleeves are continuous tubular belts, which will travel along cables or other cylindrical substrates and negotiate variable geometries.
They are simply rolled into position over mated connectors or splices and sealed at the sleeve ends with the mastic or gel tape supplied in the kits.
Once installed, they provide tough and secure protection to their host and a complete environmental seal.
Re-entry is achieved by breaking the seal and rolling away the protective sleeve, which allows maintenance, repair and retrofitting tasks to be undertaken.
Afterwards it can be rolled back into place and resealed - an action that can be repeated many times with no loss of performance.
These tough components have an operating temperature range from -40C to +90C and will resist weathering and moisture (incl.
salt water) to offer complete protection against corrosion damage.
They are ideal for use on external connections at remote communications sites and with outside broadcast camera and lighting systems.
Installation without heat or special tools also makes them suitable for those hazardous area applications, where heat sources are prohibited or require special arrangements.
Rayolon sleeves are supplied in kits, containing all the components required, and are now offered in a choice of lengths and sealing options to suit all popular outdoor electrical requirements. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics - Wire, Harness and Protection ...
