Saab to use Raychem databus system in Gripen

Tyco Electronics has been awarded a contract from Saab Aerospace to supply Raychem MIL STD 1553B databus systems for the Gripen single-seat multirole fighter and the two-seater operational trainer.

Tyco Electronics has been awarded a contract, from Saab Aerospace, to supply Raychem MIL STD 1553B databus systems for both the Gripen single-seat multirole fighter and the two-seater operational trainer.

Under the contract, estimated to be worth in excess of US $2 million over the next five years, Tyco Electronics will build the fully integrated interconnection systems using its own range of Raychem MIL STD 1553B databus components including; harnesses, couplers, cable, terminations and connectors.

Saab Aerospace has confirmed full technical approval certification for the Raychem databus systems and with quality manufacturing certification has awarded Tyco Electronics Selected Supplier status.
