The V-Link offers up to eight input channels in each wireless node to operate as part of a high-speed wireless sensor network.

Among several new products introduced from MicroStrain are a range of wireless sensors, now available in the UK through Techni Measure.

The V-Link is at the top of the range, offering up to eight input channels in each wireless node to operate as part of a high-speed wireless sensor network.

These devices, as the name implies, provide a wireless link between the connected sensors and a base station, which can be up to 70m away.

Featuring 2kHz sweep rates, combined with 2Mbyte Flash memory, these little nodes have onboard sensor excitation, bridge completion and programmable gains and offsets.

Differential and single ended inputs provide an extremely versatile sensor interface.

The V-Link is therefore compatible with a wide range of analogue sensors, including strain gauges, displacement sensors, load cells, torque transducers, pressure sensors, accelerometers, temperature sensors, inclinometers and others.

The bidirectional RF communications link, in the 2.4GHz range, can trigger a sample to be logged, or request real time data to be transmitted to the host PC for data acquisition and analysis.

Typical applications include condition monitoring of machines, structures or vehicles, and for sports performance monitoring or robotics and machine automation.
