A new load cell assembly, the 220 Weighbridge Mount, manufactured in the UK by Tedea-Huntleigh, will help to improve the reliability and accuracy of weighbridges, while reducing both installation time and cost At the heart of the assembly is the company's Model 220 bending ring load cell, which is available in a range of capacities, from 5 to 50 tonne, and is OIML approved to 4000d for legal metrology

The design and construction of the Model 220 makes it extremely rugged and tolerant of the shocks and vibration found in most weighbridges.

Constructed from stainless steel, fully welded and sealed to IP 68, the product has a safe overload capacity of 150% of rated load; with an ultimate overload capacity of 300%.

The output of each load cell is voltage and current matched to simplify calibration and reduce installation costs, a benefit which is enhanced when combined with the Weighbridge Mount.

The 220 Weighbridge Mount utilises a composite rubber compound, which provides outstanding shock absorption capabilities, exhibits low temperature effects and yet still allows for thermal expansion of the bridge structure.

Critically, the design allows free motion in any direction in the horizontal plane while supplying restoring moment (return to centre motion) and low vertical deflection.

This means that the use of tie bars and bumpers are unnecessary, saving considerable time and cost of installation.
