Technifor involved in manufacturing
initiative
Technifor recently took part in the official opening of the Northern Technologies Advanced Manufacturing Centre, based on the former Michelin Tyre manufacturing site in Burnley, Lancashire.
On 20th October 2005 industrial marking and traceability specialist Technifor took part in the official opening of the Northern Technologies Advanced Manufacturing Centre, a technology and training facility based on the former Michelin Tyre manufacturing site in Burnley, Lancashire Part of Northern Technologies, a business support and training group, the Advanced Manufacturing Centre provides facilities for applied research into advanced manufacturing and product development, forging links with companies and educational establishments across the UK and Europe

Guest of honour Sir Digby Jones - Director General of the CBI - conducted the opening ceremony, calling the centre 'a class act', and praising all involved for creating and realising the project.
According to Northern Technologies Business Development Director Steve Wilkinson, a major strength of the development is its ability to support manufacturers and drive them into thinking differently about the future.
Wilkinson said: "The Northern Technologies Advanced Manufacturing Centre addresses the three major manufacturing issues head on - skills, new product development and technology exploitation".
"What makes us different is that we are driven directly by manufacturers and their needs".
"By linking with technology providers such as Technifor, we feel we've created something very special".
