With a footprint 30% smaller than comparable drives, products in the new Altivar 28 range from Telemecanique, a brand of Schneider Electric, are exceptionally compact, yet they offer an extended range of features, including integral communication facilities and built-in EMC filters The new drives, which are specifically designed for easy installation and set up, also include PI control and preset speed functions

Altivar 28 drives are available in conventional heatsink versions for use within control panels, and in fully enclosed IP55 versions which can be mounted directly on the plant, and which are ideal for use in distributed control applications.

Heatsink models can be supplied with power ratings up to 2.2kW for single phase 200/240V supplies, and up to 15kW for three phase 380/500V supplies.

Enclosed models have a maximum power rating of 4kW on three phase supplies.

As standard, all models include RS485 and Modbus RTU communication facilities which allow remote configuration, adjustment, control and supervision of the drive's operation.

The units also feature three logic inputs which can be assigned to various control functions, including selecting from up to eight preset speeds, choosing alternative acceleration and deceleration ramp times, and activating the drive's DC injection braking facility.

To ensure easy availability, Altivar 28 drives are stocked in depth by more than 50 specially selected drives distributors throughout the United Kingdom.

All of these distributors are fully trained in drive application technology, and are ready to assist users in selecting the best product for their application, as well as configuring it to obtain the best results.

Expert technical support is also available from Schneider's drives team, which has wide experience in applications of all types.

Altivar 28 drives are an integral part of Schneider's comprehensive automation range, and are designed for simple and problem-free interfacing with other automation products, including Modicon programmable controllers, Magelis display terminals and Telemecanique control equipment.

Like all products from the brands of Schneider Electric, Altivar drives benefit from Schneider's large investments in testing and quality management, ensuring maximum reliability and extended operational life.
