Schneider Electric is now offering a range of products and services which are specifically designed to help its customers in addressing the effects and requirements of the Climate Change Levy

As part of its on-going commitment to environmental protection, Schneider Electric is now offering a range of products and services which are specifically designed to help its customers in addressing the effects and requirements of the Climate Change Levy, an environmentally based tax on energy usage, which comes into force in April 2001, and which affects all non-domestic energy consumers.

Schneider Electric's approach is aimed at helping its customers to find practical and cost-effective ways of increasing the energy efficiency of their operations, and of reducing overall energy usage.

These measures will not only protect the environment, but will also reduce or, in some cases, even eliminate the financial impact of the new levy.

Three major elements make up the Schneider Electric Climate Change Levy programme.

The first is a new publication, available free-of-charge, which is the key to the whole programme.

The booklet explains, in simple terms, the reasons for the levy, and how it operates.

It also describes briefly how modern electrical distribution and automation systems can help users to respond positively to the challenges of eliminating unnecessary energy usage.

The second element of the programme is a series of free seminars which will be held throughout the UK during 2001.

These deal much more fully with the financial aspects of the levy itself, as well as suggesting appropriate measures to address its requirements, and providing opportunities for those attending to discuss their own particular applications.

The final element of the programme is a series of products from the brands of Schneider Electric, which are particularly useful in promoting the efficient use of energy.

These include, for example, Altivar variable speed drives from Telemecanique, Genie MV switchgear from Merlin Gerin, Power Logic monitoring systems, and advanced automation products from Modicon.

Copies of Schneider Electric's new publication "Committed to the Climate Change Levy" may be obtained, free of charge, from any of Schneider Electric's customer support centres throughout the UK.
