Altivar drives go to the movies!
Bristol cinemagoers are now enjoying improved screenings of classic and archive movies, thanks to an Altivar 18 variable speed drive from Telemecanique.
Six-pole switches with an auxiliary contact are available with ratings of 32A and 63 A.
They are true load-break switches, and are capable of breaking the stalled-rotor current of a motor right up to their full AC23 rating.
To ensure suitability for the widest range of applications, the new enclosed switches feature IP65 rated enclosures, manufactured from high-quality grade 304 stainless-steel.
The enclosures feature an overhang above the switch operator to provide protection against mechanical damage, and they have been designed to eliminate dirt traps, and to allow easy cleaning.
A neoprene seal on the enclosure cover plate is compressed by a minimum of four screws after the switch has been fitted and wired, ensuring efficient ingress protection.
The units are supplied with isometric knockouts and blanking plugs.
Like all Vario switches, the new units offer in-line box connections, and the facility to fit modular main pole, neutral or auxiliary contact attachments.
A cover interlock is provided, and the switches are supplied with red padlockable operators with a yellow surround, indicating their suitability for use in both main and emergency switch applications.
